Who We Are
The BlackBook ("The BlackBook," "we," "us") is a free job discovery and AI matching service for job seekers in restaurants, bars, hotels, hospitality and the trades. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you use blackbookjobs.com. The BlackBook is operated by ClubReq, Inc.; this policy applies to job seekers using The BlackBook.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us:
- Name, phone number and email address
- Industries, roles, location, pay and schedule preferences
- Work experience and an optional resume
- Answers to employer pre-screen questions
- Sign-in details if you use Google or Apple (your verified email only)
Information collected automatically: pages viewed, searches and filters used, job cards clicked, device and browser type, referrer and campaign links, and an IP-derived country. We do not store your raw IP address.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Show you jobs and match you with roles using AI
- Send matched-job emails and text alerts you agreed to
- Pass your application to an employer when you choose Fast-Track Apply or apply to a role
- Verify your phone number and keep your account secure
- Improve search, matching and the site experience
3. AI Matching
We use automated tools to read your profile and optional resume and compare them with open jobs based on experience, transferable skills, location, target roles and pay. Matches are recommendations only. Employers make every hiring decision; The BlackBook does not decide whether you are hired.
4. When We Share Your Information
We share your information with an employer only when you apply, use Fast-Track Apply, or otherwise ask us to connect you. For ClubReq partner employers, your application is sent through ClubReq's hiring platform so the employer can contact you.
We also use service providers (hosting, email, text messaging, analytics) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations. We do not sell your personal information. Mobile numbers, SMS opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
5. Text Messages (SMS)
If you opt in, you may receive verification codes, application updates, job matches and messages from employers you applied to. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of using The BlackBook.
6. Emails
We send matched-job emails, reminders and account messages. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-outs promptly.
7. Cookies & Analytics
With your consent through our cookie banner, we set a random visitor identifier to understand which pages and searches lead to sign-ups. If you sign up, your details are linked to that identifier. You can decline cookies and still browse jobs.
8. Retention & Your Choices
We keep your profile while it helps you find work. You can ask us to delete your profile and resume at any time using "Remove my info" at the bottom of any BlackBook page or by emailing privacy@blackbookjobs.com. Applications already sent to an employer are held by that employer under its own policy.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, restricted internal access and monitoring for unauthorized activity. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your sign-in details private.
10. Age Requirement
The BlackBook is intended for people 16 and older; some roles require you to be 18 or 21. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
